Our Bed and Breakfast Hotel "Pension Thieme" lies in the city center/centre, in the Promenade ring, near the beautiful market place with the St. Aegidien Church (little brother of the Cologne Dome). Our hotel includes "Villa Ruth", the historic villa built in 1896,
"Haus Thieme", the new building with modern facilities, common lounges, garden, terrace and balconies.
We are situated in a quiet and peaceful area on the Promenade under large old trees. The car park is by the house and we have storage possibilities for baby carriages, bicycles and motorbikes. Our G*** stars accommodation is graded after the German classification DEHOGA. We are member No. 364.

• 15 km to Riesa, on the river Elbe old steamer ships are waiting for a trip to the Dresden or to the open-air theatre in Rathen and the Saxon Switzerland.


• 30 km to Meißen, Europe's first fine china manufactory can be visited and you can buy a nice piece with the fames blue swords on it.


• 35 km to Torgau, Renaissance castle and historic places, connected to Martin Luther.


• 60 km to Leipzig, Germanys oldest fair has now a great new exhibition centre/center, the university, the zoo, the nice old town hall, famous restaurants and bars ( like Auerbachs Keller) Goethe loved his study place: "It is a little Paris and educates its people well".


• 60 km, to Dresden the beautiful Saxon capital with its famous Semper Gallery, The Zwinger, The castle of the Saxony kings and the Semper Opera House. You will like the well-proportioned architecture, parks and gardens, the different art galleries and museums, culture centers and the Book, Fashion and Design Shops. Don't forget to taste the "Saxon Eierschecke" in a cozy cafe with a "Humpen" in a beer garden.


• 15 km to Wermsdorf with the biggest hunting castle in Europe from the King August the Strong.

Guided city tour: Visit of the old town hall, the St. Aegidien church, the medieval city wall, the museum of scales, the gallery, the new "O-Schatz-Park" after the Country garden show in 2006, the ruins of the castle called "Wüstes Schloss". Have fun in the out and indoor swimming pool "Platsch" with a wide range of saunas, a cafe and restaurant.
